Yurei, off the beaten path

So I always wanted to create a Yurei image. I love samurai anything, and ghost's are as cool as they are creepy. I know there's no ground, but those heads are supposed to be "floating". I planned on "inking" the lines, but I took too long... Better reeeeeeally late then never.

Here's my first attempt. It would have helped to have a strong drawing to start with...so much for trying to be creative on the fly. If anything this piece expresses my frustration and overall mood last night...

My original idea didn't quite work out the way I expected, and so I had about 20 minutes to put this one together. I didn't want to flake on the very first assignment. This started off as a boy wearing a sheet and a mask...

Anyone got a band aid? I have an ouchy on my fingerrrrrr!
